Division Qualifier Tournament 2/17 -- League Championship 2/24 information

The end of season Division Qualifier Tournament will be held at Williamstown High School on Sunday, Feb 17th for Bantam (Born 2010/2011), Midget (Born 2008/2009) and Junior (Born 2006/2007) age groups only. Each team is only allowed to enter 2 wrestlers per age group/weight class, therefore not every wrestler on the team may be able to wrestle.

Weight classes are; BANTAM 45, 49, 53, 56, 60, 64, 68, 73, 78, 85, 95, 110, 120, HWT (170 max) – MIDGET 54, 58, 62, 66, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 100, 115, 125, HWT (170 max) – JUNIORS 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 108, 116, 125, 140, 155, HWT (200 max).

Participating wrestlers will have their weight checked during practice this Thursday and next Tuesday (has to be handed in to league next Thursday). Wrestlers will be required to be weighed in the morning of each tournament. There will be a .4 lb allowance at the qualifier and 1.4 lb allowance at the championship. If wrestler does not meet weight they cannot be moved to a different weight.

One important point to consider is the fact that experience level is not considered for these tournaments, only age and weight are considered. The top four place finishers in the Division Qualifier advance to the League Championship to be held the following Sunday, at Salem Community College, to face the top four place finishers from the other division.

If a wrestler is not available for the championship and does not plan on attending they should not wrestle in the qualifier and take the space of a wrestler that plans to attend the finals.

Please text Andrea at 609-457-5033 if you would like to enter your child in the Division Qualifier. If we have more than 2 kids per age group/weight class, coaches will make a decision and/or have wrestle offs for the 2 spots for the specific age group/weight class.

Positive responses will only be accepted via text – please advise by noon this Thursday 1/31 (we will not text each of you individually to get an answer). If you respond YES please remember that this is a commitment and brackets are set up based on this commitment.

Note: Girls can wrestle in the qualifier and the girls only finals. If a girl wrestles in the qualifier and advances to the finals she is expected to wrestle her spot in the finals as well as the girls only final.
